riding the proverbial wave, bro

Hello Hello! It's been a while since my last post, but really, I've been really busy.
Finals are vastly approaching, and I'm feeling pretty good about it.
During winter break I'll you know, start updating regularly again, or at least intend to.

I almost got stranded in Towson this afternoon, all I wanted was to go to Trader Joes! More reasons to dislike the bus.
Luckily Julia saved me and the ladies, she's da besss.

On the horizon :
Ellen Lupton game show event tomorrow afternoon
My jewelry line launches Wednesday, there will be a website/lookbook in the future as well.

Now I have to go write a short paper on one of my favorite movies of all time, The Endless Summer.

Serena Ryder Covers Racing In the Street

I'm gonna see Springsteen in less than two weeks.
That mere thought is getting me through whatever the hell this part of the semester is.

This song is so beautiful. Serena's cover definitely does it justice. It's always interesting for me to hear Springsteen songs in a woman's voice. I always sing along and I can never get the pitch just right. I think her cover is pretty perfect.

Let's go for a long night drive.
It's time to get out of town.

This is Ska!

Still real busy (what else is new), but I wanted to share this with you blog-o-sphere!
Rad video, I really want to get my hands on this full documentary.

I'm really into this Kiehl's Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish.
I can't remember the last time I've been so enamored with a bath product.
A+

william asher

Julia and I are doing a presentation on William Asher this monday.
I'm using this webspace to house some movie clips we're going to reference.
Also I built the presentation in indesign so it's really beautiful. I will post after the drop.

Lady bugs invaded. They were terrifying.

The harbor over flowed.

I went to the POSTTYPOGRAPHY Lettering and Type Book release party.
And tasted the fondant from Charm City Cakes.

acrylic ritual

Recently I've been thinking a lot about ownership of personal identity and body image in relation to popular culture.
I think that this is been inadvertently expressed within my work.
Actually not inadvertently, but directly.

My most recent flash animation is an at home tutorial for applying acrylic tips to your fingernails.
I have to figure out how to upload flash to the internet, but here is the opening frame.

(keep in mind that the text is animated - it changes colors and hovers up and down, and that her nails also flash colors at very quick impulses)

It was really interesting to watch people interact with the game today in it's half finished state.
I was surprised at the amount of people who had absolutely no idea what this acrylic ritual entailed, or that it even existed.

I still have a lot of work to do on it, but I'm confident it's going to be pretty excellent when it's finished.
